Rohan Krishna Seth

Rohan is a litigator who represents a number of global leaders in the technology, healthcare, energy and sports and gaming industries. His twin areas of expertise are trademarks and copyrights. He regularly appears before various Courts and also negotiates settlements and pursues alternate dispute resolution mechanisms like mediation. He also assists his clients in carrying out local commissions throughout India.

In addition to his litigation practice, Rohan also advises his clients on complex issues pertaining to privacy/data protection laws, advertising laws, packaging and labelling laws, and intermediary guidelines.

Some of Rohan’s contributions to the firm’s litigation practice are as follows:

• Argued a matter on behalf of Inter IKEA Systems BV before the High Court of Delhi where he secured a recognition of the trademark as a ‘well-known’ mark.
• Argued and secured a summary judgment in a dispute involving a similar trade/corporate name and copyright infringement involving a user-interface of two websites, for a renowned fantasy sports platform (Dream11).
• Argued and secured an injunction against 83 rogue domains.
• Was part of the team that litigated the first ever lawsuit in India that dealt with the personality rights of cricketing stars in digital assets (NFTs).

Rohan also appears before quasi-judicial fora such as the Registrar of Companies. He actively writes and speaks on IP issues and represents the firm at the meetings of the Pharmaceutical Trademark Group (PTMG).
